A useful free tool for UK property owners is HM Land Registry's Propery Alert Service. The service launched in 2014 was provided with the aim of protecting UK property owners from fraud. The service allows registration to monitor upto 10 residential properties, any registration change activity results in an email alert being fired off to the registred user who can then take action against any unrecognised changes.The Property Alert Service is a useful tool could usefully counter attempts by fraudsters who try to obtain legal ownership interest in property, which if achieved could lead to the fradulent sale of the property. In particluar residential property unencumbered by loan finance is most at risk of this type of fraud.
